"I had the opportunity to participate in Transferable Trades Skills while at the Provincial Correctional Centre.
I felt that the process allowed me to focus on my skills so that I could figure out what I needed to do to apply the skills I had as a trained welder to the skills I had gained as a carpenter to seek employment as a carpenter and to write my carpenters exam.
While I think the process is really good, I feel there needs to be a way for me to go and update my profile if I move to another province.
I also feel that for people who are in custody, Transferable Trades Skills provides a great opportunity to figure out what skills they have and what skills they need for a trade.
It is a good program and I am happy I was able to participate in it."
