DESCRIPTION  The motor vehicle body repairer (metal and paint) is a skilled tradesperson who possesses a
wide range of knowledge and skills in areas such as:
- repair and replacement of glass and glass assemblies;
- repair and replacement of sheet metal panels;
- repair and replacement of plastic and composite panels;
- repair and replacement of frame and structural components;
- repair and replacement of mechanical components;
- repair and replacement of electrical components;
- diagnose and repair electronic systems;
- assessment of damage;
- refinishing;
- detailing; and
- welding.
Depending on the place of employment, a motor vehicle body repairer (metal and paint) may be
called upon to work on any type of motor vehicle from the smallest of automobiles to the largest of trucks
or buses.
