An Automotive Radiator Manufacturer and Repairer is a person who removes, tests, repairs, and rebuilds motor vehicle radiators. These workers have extensive knowledge of cooling system operations and repair. This may extend to industrial cooling systems and may also include automotive air conditioning. Automotive Radiator Manufacturer and Repairer clean radiators with caustic solutions, locate and solder leaks, and install new radiator cores or complete replacement radiators. They also may repair heaters and air-conditioners, and solder leaks in gasoline tanks.
Automotive Radiator Manufacturer and Repairer consult with customers to determine problems and also use a range of diagnostic tools and equipment. Estimates are prepared initially and accounts are written up to document payment. Communication is important because customers need to know what has been done and what other maintenance may be needed.
The specific duties of these workers are as varied as the products they repair and service. One common skill these workers must have is the ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints or technical manuals, as they may be called on to install or repair many makes or models of products. In most cases, they provide routine maintenance for products that they have installed. If they have a lot of direct customer contact or are self-employed, they must also be able to prepare estimates for customers.
