DESCRIPTION  This occupational analysis is directed at the sheet metal worker occupation. Sheet metal workers
fabricate, install and repair sheet metal products. They are employed by sheet metal fabrication shops,
sheet metal products manufacturing companies and sheet metal work contractors. Sheet metal workers
must possess and apply a wide range of knowledge, abilities and skills to perform their duties. In the
accomplishment of their job responsibilities they may perform all or some of the following duties:
! participating in workplace health and safety;
! developing patterns;
! planning and organizing work activities;
! rigging and hoisting;
! welding sheet metal products;
! fabricating and assembling sheet metal products;
! installing HVAC systems and architectural roofing systems; and
! servicing and maintaining heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
